Since 2018, Mali ‘Guapo Marlz’ Gunter has been determined to forge his own path and is dedicated to empowering young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through social impact research and Ed-Tech.
As a rapper, singer-songwriter, record producer and entrepreneur, Guapo Marlz is firmly in his own lane, and is championing his own global sound which combines hard hitting U.K Rap and Dancehall infused melodies with a Punk rock flair, influenced by Emo Rap artists such as Juice WRLD, XXXTENTACION and Lil Peep.
With multiple achievements in the music industry, and vital social impact research work being carried out alongside institutions such as The Mayor’s Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC), the Open University and the London Borough of Waltham Forest, El Guapo is intent on making a difference where it counts.
Guapo is also the founder of 'Trapanomics', an events brand originating out of Bristol, currently in the process of building the world's largest UK Rap festival in Valencia, Spain.
Among his achievements, Guapo has performed at several prestigious locations across the UK including the 02 Academy (Bristol), Lakota and Phonox. He currently serves as the Founder/Director of 'Can't Be Exposed Records', which is an independent UK Rap record label.
In 2022, Guapo Marlz also launched ‘The Guapo Group’ a youth led social impact research firm, specialising in partnering with educational institutions and government agencies, with the aim of boosting the socio-educational outcomes of young, urban males from disadvantaged backgrounds.
